MiiR’s Journey
The journey that MiiR is on started when the founder Bryan was in a bad accident while out skiing. The incident changed his perspective. In his own words, “I realized at that moment that nobody would have gotten up and said anything positive about me helping in my community, really impacting people around me.”
Desiring to make a difference, he created MiiR, creating stainless steel drinkware. The company grants 3% of its profits to support sustainable empowerment. The company also coined the phrase “Product to Project Company”, which is a succinct description of who they are and what they do. According to MiiR’s own website, they funded 9 projects and provided 11 grants in 5 nations for a total of $210,000, impacting over 9,000 people in 2018 alone.
Bryan is proud of the work his company has done, saying “I think for MiiR, we’ve had a lot of success in the marketplace because of our generosity, our great product design, our innovation. But, ultimately, it comes down to our purpose and our mission to help empower people.”
MiiR and Acumatica cloud ERP partner up
Despite MiiR’s successes, there have been several roadblocks. Outdated customer relations software and infelxible financial systems hampered operations. The company found itself in need of new and advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to help facilitate managing the workflow. By partnering with a cloud vendor service, the company has been able to keep up with their work and continue prospering. Bryan credits that partnership with their ongoing success.
After careful consideration, and looking at several competing vendors, the company went with Acumatica. Bryan and his team appreciated how Acumatica’s distribution software and financial management software were going to provide the necessary tools to grow their business.
Godwin Peck, the Account Manager for Miir, demonstrates the drastic changes the software has allowed. “We were kind of relying on all of these piecemeal strategies to form this cohesive—somewhat cohesive—whole in getting orders out on time. A lot of it was based in QuickBooks, Shopify, and Google Sheets. These different systems don’t talk to each other that well.” Acumatica’s software suites, however, use a proprietary API so that everything is routed through a company’s customizable portal.
MiiR’s future with Acumatica ERP systems
Since adopting Acumatica’s ERP suites, MiiR has experienced a number of benefits through the Acumatica Distribution Edition and Acumatica’s Financial Management module. The software offers enhanced access to real-time financial data as well as streamlined processing of operations. MiiR has also utilized Acumatica’s seamless third-party applications, including Fusion Warehouse Management for warehouse management functionality and Pacejet for integrating hundreds of parcel, freight, and 3PL shipping services. These freight programs are aggregated all together through the portal.
With the ease of use and wide range customization options available, MiiR has taken advantage of the flexibility that the ERP systems offer to expand operations. This provides the company the ability to grow their operations, and in turn allow them to pursue the charitable endeavors that is part of the company’s mission.
